pollen-dusted flowers & polyester nostalgia. faded books, open fields, & wistful romanticism.

Blooms End is a traveling bakery, crafting unique baked goods and elaborately decorated pop-ups that draw crowds across the Bay Area.

who is blooms end?

Blooms End is the product of combining a deep passion for baking with a dangerously overactive imagination. Pastry Chef Mary Denham has been baking professionally in the Bay Area for some twelve years and began her own series of pop-ups in 2018. These morphed into what Blooms End is now: pop-ups with different locations and new menus each week, and a forthcoming permanent location (see: Neighboring Fields).

Her baking is meant to be technically precise but also playful and fun: nonconventional croissant toppings, sentimental nods to tradition, cakes with a look that reflects the process, lots of whole grains and seasonal produce and local ingredients and food that tastes like the ingredients that go into it.

Thank you so much for being here and sharing in this story with me.

This traveling bakery is homeward bound.

FAQs

  • Calling Blooms End a traveling bakery was really just a way to romanticize my lack of a storefront. Baked goods are made in a kitchen space in Sausalito, packed into a car along with tables and pastry boxes and vases of flowers, and then set up at spots in the East Bay, S.F., and Marin.

  • Pop-ups happen every Saturday between 10 am and 1 pm at various locations all across the Bay Area. To stay up-to-date on upcoming dates, you can sign up for our email list, follow along on instagram, or check out this calendar.

  • It’s really quite simple! Find out where we’ll be setting up (this calendar is handy) and show up! A line tends to start forming around 9:40 am. And while the goal is always to make it to 1 pm with a few offerings for late-comers, sometimes we sell out a little earlier.

  • Unfortunately, limitations in space and time prevent us from being able to offer pre-orders for Saturdays at this time. Thank you for understanding. Inquiries for large orders (three dozen or more items) may be made here.

  • As pop-ups grow in scale, cake production has gone a little quiet, but we still do welcome cake orders for Saturday early morning pick-up from our space in Sausalito. Get in touch here.

  • Truly the most frequently asked question. And the answer is quite early (or late, depending on how you see it.)
